Poem
Do
not stand at my grave and weep,
When I am gone, release me – let me go
Although
we can't see
you
Do
not stand at my grave and
weep,
When I am gone, release me - let me
go.
We know that you are
here
I am not there, I did not sleep.
I have so many things to see and do.
Smiling down, Watching over
us
I am a thousand winds that
blow,
You must not tie yourself to me with
tears
As we say "I
do."
I am the diamond glints on
snow.
Be happy that we had so many
years.
Forever in our
hearts
I am the sunlight on ripened
grain.
I gave you love, you can only
guess,
Forever in our
lives
I am the gentle autumn
rain.
how much you gave me in happiness
and so we say our
vows
When you awaken in the morning's
hush
I thank you for the love each have shown,
in loving memory of
you,
I am the swift uplifting
rush
but now it is time I traveled alone
Of quiet birds in circled
flight.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
I am the soft starts that shine at
night.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
Do not stand at my grave and
cry:
It is only for a while that we must part
I am not there, I did not
die.
so bless those memories within your heart.
Mary Elizabeth
Frye
I will not be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you cannot see or touch me,
I will be near. And if you listen with your
heart. you will hear all my love
around you, soft and clear. Then when
You must come this way alone, I will greet
You with a smile and "Welcome Home".
The 23rd
Psalm
I lift my eyes to the hills
The
Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
I lift my eyes to the hills ---
He makes me lie down in green
pastures,
Where does my help come from?
He leads me beside quiet
waters,
My help comes from the Lord,
He restores my
soul.
The Maker of heaven and earth.
He guides me in paths of
righteousness
He will not let your foot slip --
for His name's
sake.
He who watches over you
Even though I walk
through
will not slumber,
the Valley of the Shadow of
Death,
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
I will fear no
evil,
will neither slumber nor sleep.
For you are with
me,
The Lord watches over you --
Your rod and your
staff,
The sun will not harm you by day,
they comfort
me
Nor the moon by night,
You prepare a table before
me
The Lord will keep you from all harm --
In the presence of my
enemies.
He will watch over your life;
You anoint my head with
oil,
The Lord will watch over
My cup
overflows.
Your coming and going
Surely goodness and
love
Both now and forevermore
Will follow me all the days of my
life,
Psalm 121
And I will dwell in the house
Of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23
He
heard the call
When I am called to serve
His Last Parade
He
heard the
call
When I am called to
serve, Dear Lord
The weight of him on our shoulders,
And answered it brave and
true;
Wherever war may
be,
The faint whiff of gunpowder smoulders,
"I'll be a man to do or
die;
Give me courage to fight the
battles
It's almost as if my lead bearing heart,
I'm going to help them
through."
My country may ask of
me
Would stop with this solemn task.
The Great Commander has written his
name;
Grace me with your
presence,
We step in, out, in, out,
On the roll of him who
gave;
And know that I love
You.
These timings are not a shout,
His Only Begotten
Son;
While I fight the
enemy,
To the tune of the bagpipes playing,
And died that we might
live.
My country needs me
to.
To attention he is marching, laying.
He paid his debt to his
country;
Help me protect my
comrades,
Our arms underneath him for support,
In the fight for right he has
won;
As You expect me
to
To take him to his last call of port,
And the King of Kings has
spoken:
And keep me in your loving
hands
No longer will he be a trencher,
"Thou faithful one, well
done."
While I do what I must
do.
As the padre swings his golden censer.
I want to do my
duty
The memories of him will never fade,
And to give the best in
me,
As he is carried to his last parade,
To do what I've been called to
do
He has fought in line with his brothers,
And protect our
liberty
And today says goodbye to his lovers.
And if according to Your
will
We raise a glass to his name,
I must give up my
life,
Because he lived without any shame,
Please bless with your protecting
hand
Now in peace he lies in restful sleep,
My children and my
wife,
And for him we shall forever weep.
